Though that is pretty funny, it is amazing to think that this guy even remotely thought it was a good idea or that he wouldn't get into trouble for this. I could see some little airport in the middle of no where, but this was JFK. Pretty rediculous.

Yea, that just wasn't the brightest idea.

I think the tower of JFK needs to be pretty professional no matter how innocent it seems. As I saw on some other forum, would you want to call 911 and have a kid answer?

I think that was awesome. I just listened to the clip and I personally think there was nothing wrong with it. If any of the pilots had asked for confirmation of the clearance I bet the controller would have jumped on and repeated the instruction. Plus the kid was obviously told exactly what to say. I'm with the rest of those who say the controller shouldn't get busted for it, though it looks like he will.  Sad
